Lee Artris Searles of Ames, Texas departed this life on Sept. 3, 2013.

There will be a visitation Fri., 1- 6 p.m., Sept. 6, 2013 at Wells Funeral Services Chapel

Viewing will be Sat., 12 – 2p.m., Sept. 7, 2013, at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, Ames, Texas.

The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gregg Bellard officiating.

Interment will be at Wells Memorial Cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

Lee Artris Searles was born on March 28, 1926 in Hardin, Texas. He was the oldest son of two children born to the parentage of Anderson Searles, Sr. and Nellie Lee Bolds. He attended school at Woodson High School in Raywood, Texas.

At the age of eighteen he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his time allotted. Lee accepted Christ at an early age and later joined St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his death. As a young man he was in holy matrimony to Annie Mae Hebert. To this union, two children were born whom he loved dearly.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Mae; one brother, Lee Omah Searles; three sisters, Dorothy Mae Johnson, Carrie Mae Davis and Nettie Bea Blake; two step-sons, Joseph Hebert and James Hebert.

Lee Artris leaves to cherish his memories, his loving children, Marvin E.
